Newest Firefox beats every browser ive tested so far in speed, loadup time etc even on my Dualcore laptop 3+ years old with cpu heat problems xD
It's a matter of adjusting the active plugins for preference and actual use to get the best browser.. i always disable a bunch of unnecesary bleep plugins
from start ^_^

Thanks for the links & info Animal. I'll take a look around & see if this might suit my needs. I have just tweaked FF yesterday, & seen some comparisons via FF & Chrome, Lunascape, etc...& do believe that I MAY just want to stick with FF right now, but am still entertaining other options. (After looking around, I'm not sure that I am in position for all the learning curve of new browser at this given moment). I have disabled/uninstalled any unnecessary plugins & ext., & have also tweaked a bit since I use SSL a lot, & this has greatly enhanced my speed w/FF. There are a couple addons that I would like to use, which haven't been compatible for some time, but lack of their use is by no means reason for me to simply dump FF.

Happy Holidays!

You're most welcome, Happy Holidays to you as well.

So, I find myself here again. Why? Well, still on old Dell Dimension 2400 w/XP Home I'm "running to the ground", lol. I had bought a new customized HP Pavilion a couple years ago, right after Vista came out, & it has Vista 64, but have kept it new on shelf as for obvious reasons, when Vista 64 first came out, not too many programs were playing nice with 64 version. So I am now going to be bringing it down off the shelf, & was looking for current 64 bit programs I will be wanting/needing to install (firewall, etc...) & just happened across this browser, which I never knew existed: Waterfox . 64 bit version of FF. Has anyone ever heard of it or have experience with it? Curious, very curious... want to hear some feedback before I decide to install on my new system though ;) : Waterfox . Appreciate any feedback!

Happy New Year!

Ha-ha, now to add to the mix, I was looking into Waterfox, & came upon Pale Moon. Caught my attention because of it mentioning optimization for AMD X2 processors, & I have Vista 64 bit & AMD Athalon X2 processor. So basically wondering if anyone has any experience with these 2 different browsers, on similar set up? I like the fact that they're Firefox based, so I can easily switch over my current profile, & most likely most of my plugins, etc... Would only consider if someone could tell me just how stable they are at this point...

Never heard of Waterfox. I think I tried Pale Moon once. Don't remember anything about it though, so I can't provide any feedback on it.

If 64-bit is your concern, Firefox is the least of your worries. The fact is, most 32-bit programs will run just fine on 64-bit Windows.

You can't hurt anything by trying them out, so feel free to go nuts. I doubt the performance difference will be noticeable, but I've been wrong before.

I use both Google Chrome and Firefox :) .
The Google Chrome's sandbox is awesome but its Javascript engine is not very good.

I am to the understanding that 64bit may be a little more secure & not quite as vulnerable as 32bit? If my understanding is on target, I am not only interested in 64bit programs for compatibility, but also as another layer of security... Could you elaborate on this at all? So as soon as I have eradicated a "nasty" I am currently cleaning up, I will go ahead & "try on" Pale Moon &/or Waterfox... will let you know what I think once I've tried.

Thanks for your input!
