Forum Rules

When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

If you have not received help after three days, please post a link to your topic HERE.

Hi, I managed to contract this trojan while streaming some tv shows. It has completely wiped out my desktop and I dont seem to have access to any folders. I can open them, but they are blank. I also receive pop ups for virus protection and threats/malfunctions with my computer. I'm not able to post a log right now, but will await instructions from one of the professionals here at BleepingComputer.

Thanks in advance,

Steven.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Well, its fairly annoying because I originally posted my topic there and it was moved. So now you are asking me to run DDS (it will not work) and GMER and re post. Rather than doing all of this and likely waiting 3-5 days for a response, I think ill just head over to another forum or work on this myself. Your admins should realize i have a virus and may not be able to post a log straight away. Show the same patience the community shows you guys and give me time to post my logs before you go and move my topic. Thanks for wasting my time.

I'm not sure why it was moved. Possibly you didn't post all required logs.

Yes well maybe hamluis should try asking for the required logs and info, before he/she simply decides to move the topic.

That happened to me by the same individual. I quickly realised this was done because, in haste, I did not place my post in the proper forum.

For example being as the pc I was working on at the time had xp for an os I posted in the xp forum rather than properly posting in the Am I infected forum.

Just a thought

Maybe you should read instructions for posting in malware removal forum first?

That would be whose fault?

That was my mistake!

I frequent this forum when I have issues fixing my friends pc's that I cannot handle and I always find valuable information that helps me help them.

This is a great site and I am happy it is here!

The issue has been resolved, no thanks to anyone here. You may lock, delete, etc. this topic. FYI i read the instructions and was in the process of running DDS while creating my post. Unfortunately, after 1-2 hrs of running DDS, I came to the conclusion it wasnt working and began running GMER, therefore I wasnt able to post any logs at the time. As for following the forums rules. I read through them, hence why i tried to get the DDS and GMER logs, however I wasn't fast enough for the admins here.
