Hi
My computer is running slow. Cant stream things and pages load slow sometimes. Did all my scans and nothing helps. My provider wants to test my modem but that involves me taking a day off and waiting around for a tech person. Appointments are in an 8 hour window. Any way I can do this myself or any other suggestions?

I looked on the Bell Aliant support page to see if I could find anything about checking your modem stats.

The only thing I found was a generic page Experiencing Slow Internet Speeds with Bell Aliant

Is it possible for you to bring the modem to a Bell Aliant customer service center and exchange it? This would accomplish two things. Eliminate the specific modem as a source of your problem if that is in fact the problem. Two, accommodate your time frame and eliminate the need to block out 8 hours of your time for an appointment for their technician.

Download page slow maybe have two reasons. One is net, the other is the memory problems. Do you open many programs, fist clear the cache and any browser's cookies. Second check if there is or Trojan virus. If above two steps is ok. You can download some sofeware to check the web speeds and you mentioned the sometimes, i think you can remember the what time the network speed is slow. Last, go to the customer service.
