I installed a new power supply in a desktop computer last week and replaced a failed unit. After one week the computer has no power and I'm not sure if there is something causing the power supply to fail. What should I look for?

What happens prior to the replacement of PSU? What happens currently when you press the power button? Any light indicator or totally no response, power?

Totally no response. This is how the computer was before I replaced the power supply. It is not my computer I am just trying to repair it. I don't know what happens just before it is the current state.

It must be on the fluctuation of electricity from the area or location of the house itself. Power surge or shorting though it worked for about a week. Can you check the replaced PSU if it works on another PC? Posting the computer specs, details would help.

Solved, I discovered a loose connection when I removed the PS to try in another system.
