Hi, I successfully removed "System Fix" from a computer running Vista (32bit). I was also able to restore the start menu successfully by running unhide.exe.

Unfortunately the start menu area that displays most recently used programs is still blank. So far I have tried.
1) Disabling and Enabling the display options.
2) Searching the registry for "NoStartMenuMFUprogramsList"

I thought about trying system restore, but the computer had multiple infections so I'm not sure what would be a safe date, I don't really trust system restore, and I already uninstalled the old security software and installed my own favorite programs and I don't want to undo this work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the start menu area that displays most recently used programs is still blank.

It should repopulate over time.
Make sure settings are correct.
Right click on Start button, click "Properties", make sure BOTH items in "Privacy" section are checkmarked.
