Will this cable work in a parallel port or only in the 9 pin serial port? It has 25 pin connetion just like the parallel port.
Its being used for a plotter and there is an adaptor on the end of the cable which brings it down to 9 pins. I was wondering were it has 25 pins without the adaptor if it would work in the parallel port?

Since you ask will the cable work, it's not entirely clear to me if you mean will the cable work as a parallel cable, or will the serial plotter work if it's connected to the parallel port, but the answer will be no in both cases. A serial device won't work from a parallel port, and a serial cable can't function as a parallel cable as it's internal pin-to-pin connections are different. In any case, the D25 connectors for serial and parallel are opposite gender, so won't plug directly in.
