BleepingComputer.com: Dvd-rw drive not reading dvd/media

Hello, recently I tried to load a dvd into my D drive (cd/dvd-rw drive) and it would not read the media. Nothing would show up on the My Computer display either (running XP Pro/SP3). I checked the Device Manager and the drive is not disabled. I went to Microsoft Support and ran their "Fix it!" tool, but the tool said it could not fix the problem - and then checked all of Microsoft's other suggestions on their page, but none of them seemed like solutions to my problem (and the ones that were were included as part of the "fix it" tool). So I came here for help!
