To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Sounds like something is causing a short. I would definitely take it in and have a tech look at it.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Well it's been a few days now and no more freezes, cross my fingers. When you said that it sounded like a short, i put that together with the fact that I had been getting shocked when I touched the case lately so I did a search on the net. I found some advice about unplugging each cable inside, one at a time and from each end, and then plugging them back in. This also included the DIMMs. So I did all the cables but not the DIMMs since I had done that previously. In fact, I realized that I have not had a freeze since I had switched the 2 DIMMs on December 14th so maybe that was all it needed. I have been running it like normal and so far no problems.

I really hope that it continues to run fine. It certainly was scary. I learned to keep my machine up off the carpet and to blow the dust out of it with a can of air at least every 6 months.

So what does everyone think? Could this have been the solution. Have I escaped any permanent damage? Is there anything else to do to confirm that my machine is A-ok?

I would say this has been resolved.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
