BleepingComputer.com: Abit KN8 SLI is stuck at "Please Wait!" during BIOS flash

First off, hello and thanks for reading this. I have an Abit KN8 SLI motherboard and I'm trying to update the BIOS to the latest version, which for some reason I don't have. I've followed Abit's tutorial to the T, I have double checked and triple checked to make sure that I have the proper files, I formatted my floppy drive and everything. But once I get to the screen where I have to type in " A:\>awdflash kn8_19.bin /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /cks /R" in DOS it goes into the flash utility screen once I press enter and it sticks there for 3 hours and longer if I let it. The screen isn't frozen, and from what I can see it just says "Please Wait!" flashing at the bottom of the screen over and over. I've restarted multiple times after this has happened and I'm still able to boot just fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to why I'm getting this error and how to solve it? If it helps I'm running Windows XP Home Pro.

It isn't recommended to flash the Bios unless you are having a problem.

Are you having some problem?

A bad update of the bios can cost you the motherboard. If it isn't broke, don't fix it has worked well for me in my lifetime. I know people that ruined a motherboard that was working fine because they had to have the latest BIOS.

The fact that you are having problems would make me very wary of trying again.
