Internet connection indicator at the task bar (bottom-right) appears after ~3 mins from OS startup.

OS - Windows XP Professional SP3 (32-bit).

Could it be because System Mechanic 10 Freeware service "Check Internet Connection for Problems" is active?

Edit:

My share: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5 SE

Auslogics BoostSpeed 5 Special Edition will enhance your PCs performance with a host of useful optimisation tools.

These type of programs will generally not help your system to operate any better.

Do you still have decent internet connection ?? This can, at times, take a few mins to appear active at start up.
It is just aquiring full connection, and logging on to your Internet Provider.

Wireless or wired connection? I would assume wireless because of your mention of the internet connetion in the systray.

My laptop takes a full two to three minutes to boot and establish a wifi connection.
In the beginning there was the command line.
