Toshiba vs. Dell ?

I need some advice/help deciding which laptop to purchase. :)
I'd be using it for school work, internet, little internet games, things like that. i'd prefer which ever one has a better battery life.
I've looked at some similar topics and it seems like Toshiba would be better..but honestly i don't know??!Over all which one is Best?

They are both very similar and the one i would get is the Toshiba laptop because they make much better quality laptops then Dell does.

Missed this one and probably to late to help.

I like both brands. I also like Lenovo Thinkpads. Plus if you get the Dell make sure you get onsite service for any warranty problems. Lenovo at present has a very good service network in the USA using independent ASPs for good coverage.

It isn't just how good they are it is also how they can be serviced.
My first Computer had a Whopping 16K of memory @ 0.89MHz
My first hard drive held 20 Megabytes and never got filled up.

You were not one of the many with the dv series powered with AMD and Nvidia graphics that had problems then?

But I agree, they are very sturdy and last forever (or so it seems).

I'm partial to Dell and ASUS myself. :)

They aren't supposed to look pretty since they are Business models. I'll take durability over pretty every time.
Thinkpads come with a lot of security features both in hardware an software.

The other feature I like with a Thinkpad is the Lenovo warranty network, if needed here in the USA they have a lot of locations.

Dell you want to add OnSite service for any warranty needed. ASUS can be slow for warranty AFAIK. I had to warranty a couple of HPs, sort of slow there too.

I only had to do a warranty claim once, and that was for my Dell laptop's power supply. Was pretty painless. :)

Also, I deal with Dell and HP warranties regularly at work, and let me tell you, it's much easier (not to mention faster) working with Dell as opposed to HP.
