BleepingComputer.com: Google Redirect Issues - ping.exe?

Hi,

- I am experiencing Google redirect issues. Redirecting to various spam and fake/malicious "virus protection" websites. This does not occur every time, but it occurs often.
- "ping.exe" is running in Windows Task Manager Processes. It is using up to 280,000K memory. If force-stopped, it returns. I have never noticed this in the Task Manager Processes before - at least at this level of memory usage.
- I also am seeing 6 "svchost.exe" in Windows Task Manager Processes. 1 at 38,000K and 5 at 18,000K-20,000K memory. I don't know enough about computers to determine if this is normal.
- If I run AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2012, it will detect multiple files that are listed in result/infections as "Trojan horse Agent_r.ARN". It will not remove these result/infections.
- I have tried running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It will not solve this problem.
- I installed and ran BitDefender. It would not help so it was uninstalled.
- My browser is Firefox 8.0.
- My DDS log is pasted below. I have attached the "attach.txt" and rootkit scan report (saved as "ark.txt") as directed in the preparation guide.

• A new DDS and GMER log. For your convenience, you will find the instructions for generating these logs repeated at the bottom of this post.

  • If you were unable to produce the logs originally please try once more.
    
  • If you are unable to create a log please provide detailed information about your installed Windows Operating System including the Version, Edition and if it is a 32bit or a 64bit system.

• Please tell us if you have your original Windows CD/DVD available.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan again:

• Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links if you no longer have it available. Save it to your desktop.
  • DDS.scr
    
  • DDS.pif
  
  
• Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  
• A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  
• Notepad will open with the results.
  
• Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  
• Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

We also need a new log from the GMER anti-rootkit Scanner.

Please note that if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows you will not be able to run GMER and you may skip this step.

Please first disable any CD emulation programs using the steps found in this topic:
