:busy: Hello, MBC Friends! I just uninstalled a piece of software, but an APPLICATION EXTENSION FILE (.dll) was left behind. When I try to erase it, Windows tells me that the action can't be taken because the file is STILL OPEN in WINDOWS EXPLORER and in order to erase it I must CLOSE THE FILE. What file do I close and how do I close it? Can anyone please tell me how to erase this unwanted guest? Thank you. :)

If Windows indicates that a file cannot be deleted because it's in use...I just go to Task Manager and terminate the service related to that file. Then delete it.

A reboot will restart the service (if it's necessary by other files) but the file related to it is gone.

Thanks, Guys! Sorry it took so long to respond. I found a way to remove the file about a half hour after making this post and never bothered to check for responses. I really appreciate your suggestions and will save for future reference. Thanks again. :thumbup2:
