Just went through all the Steam Setting's and I can find no such option that disables / enables the automatic import of games that can be installed via CD-ROM that are also on Steam.
However, if the game is supported on Steam and includes a Steam Installer then it will call up Steam then ask you to input the CD / Product Key.
My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

My apologies if this is not the most appropriate place in the forums to post this.
I've read all the info here (and at the link provided on the home page here) regarding the Steam database hacking incident. I am curious if there has been ANY updated information regarding user accounts, passwords, & financial information being compromised?
I have been following quite a number of increasing complaints being posted on another website where fraudulent charges are being placed by an on-line website called: witifile.com. This entity apparently is in the online data storage/retrieval business. Numerous people are reporting this entity is billing unauthorized charges to their checking accounts, debit card accounts, & credit cards in amounts ranging from $3.00 - $8.20. (The amounts correspond to the various memberships offered on the website).
I myself discovered one of my own accounts had been fraudulently charged by this entity on the same day the bogus charge showed up (Nov. 11th). This entity has NO street or mailing address, and NO working phone number, only a email address: support@witifile.com. Fortunately, I was able to recover the money they attempted to charge the aforementioned account. In the entity's email response to me, they claim "they investigated" and even though they refunded the money, they do not believe the error occurred on their part.
I've filed reports with the FTC, ic3.gov, and local law enforcement, (the last of which is investigating this matter to see if they can ascertain the actual location of this entity's business). In addition, I alerted my financial institution, cancelled my existing financial accounts & re-opened them with new numbers, changed all email and website passwords, and filed fraud alerts with the 3 credit bureaus. This morning I noticed a new complaint on a website from someone apparently in Germany, complaining about THEIR credit card being fraudulently charged by witifile.com.
Since I have purchased a few games on line before, it would seem that there is reasonable cause to believe the Steam database hacking incident HAS compromised consumers' financial and personal information. If there has been any updated information regarding this incident, I would appreciate it if someone could direct me to it.
Thank you for your time, any assistance, & again my apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.

I've merged your topic here as it's a continuation of the subject.
Does anyone know if there is further news on the breach?

There is a Steam forum topic asking the same question:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2239613
I assume the encrypted credit card info is still encrypted. If it was decrypted, I'm sure we would have heard something by now. If people claim to have fraudulent charges ($1,337.00 in the Steam forum topic, yeah right), it's likely due to a different compromise. Identity theft is a common thing, and the Steam hack just gives people something to point a finger at, in my opinion.

KeyboardNinja makes a noteworthy point about the claims of monetary loss being attributed to the Steam database hacking incident. My primary concern is IF there is any actual connection between the fraudulent charges being placed by witifile.com and the Steam issue.
I have noted at least two complaints where these fraudulent charges by witifile.com reportedly appeared on someone's account after eating at a Chinese restuarant...a situation which appears unrelated to Steam at all.
