Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 6xxx series comes wit DirectX11 vs the 5xxx with DirectX10.
Yeah the 6770 seems to be the card for the money. Fan noise varies from part number to part number, ie. MSI makes (3) 6770's a dual fan, a single fan, and a low profile, each one produces different volumes of sound. That said dont go for a card because its fanless if you start to use the card heavily it is more likely to overheat.

The 5000 series has DirectX11 support, the 4000 series does not have DirectX11 support.
