Hi all. I have an old G4 and I love it!
The problem is it has gotten to be quite sluggish over the past couple of years.
I used to be able to use it for making vids and now cannot as it freezes and hangs too often.

I am looking for ways to clean it up and I am also thinking I would like to upgrade whatever necessary hardware.

How can I clean it up now ... are there any programs out there for this?

RE: upgrades, what would you recemmend? Right now this is what I have:
Machine Name: iMac
Machine Model: PowerMac6,1
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (3.3)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 1 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
Memory: 256 MB
Bus Speed: 133 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.5.9f1
Serial Number: W83170PSNHX

Thanks,

J

Tuning Mac OS X Performance

You can see which upgrades you can do here. Click on the specs link for your model iMac.

Nifty post on OSX optimization, I look forward on reading more articles from that site.
(Instructor) You put a Linux machine within a Windows machine within a Mac? That's great! Now where is that paper on BitTorrents vulnerabilities that was due last week?
