I hooked up a Velocity Micro #101 to my ASUS Eee PC 1005HAB-RBLU005S and it came up just like it's suppose to, so I slipped in the driver disk and installed the software. When it was done I closed the program because I not going to be using it at that time. When I looked into Windows Explorer it was not there. I cannot seem to get this thing to work on my computer. It works fine on my desktop but not my mini notebook (for which I bought the darn thing). Can anyone please tell me why it's there and then it isn't there? I have played around with this for so long I am about to throw the darn thing right out the window. I'm deadly serious!! I've used my neighbors external drive and had not one problem so I know it's not that my system can't handle it. HELP!!! HELP!!!

Usually, the safest method to installing external hardware is to run the setup media first and connect the device when prompted. If you would like to try this method, uninstall the driver(s)/software for the device from Add/Remove Programs (if it is listed). If there is nothing in the Add/Remove Programs; uninstall the device from within Device Manager. Reboot the machine after removal of driver(s) and try to install the device by first running setup media. If still no joy, we can try something else.

External drives are connected through a USB cable.

When you plug in in it usually installed the drivers. did it do that

Now if you are having disc ejection problems grab a paper clip and bent it and push the round tiny hole it should release the disc

Thanks for the quick replies!! First..... I can't install the program and then hook up the device. I have no disc player on this computer (even though it came with a disc). LOL As for the install... as soon as it finished installing I said I did not want to open it, that's it! Also, another strange thing! I am showing I have 3 drives (C, D, E). I understand C, I even get that D is a restore partition but E? When I click on it in Windows Explorer it tells me the drive needs to be formatted (0 space used, 0 space available). I got fed up and formated the darn thing. Now it says Used 11.2 MB, free 4.05 MB and it's completely empty!

Take the setup disk to another computer and copy/rip the content to a USB device (memory card, USB hard drive, thumb drive ect.).
Attach the device to the netbook and run setup.
Another option is to try to run this tool (VM Drivefix v2 from the device support site.
