I have no idea where to begin with this. I have been trying all day to figure out what is wrong with my computer. Every hour on the hour i get the blue screen of death which shows that minidump files are the cause of this, but i have no idea what that means. Also, my laptop's batter shows plugged in but not charging. I dont know if that has anything to do with it. Please help me figure this out. Also, the exe taht was found with this problem was ntoskrnl.exe. Have no idea what that is, but maybe it will help find a solution easier.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 76
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: FFFFFA800B561C10
BCP3: 0000000000000033
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini102911-01.dmp
C:\Users\Lawrence\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-149121-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Lawrence\AppData\Local\Temp\WER18CD.tmp.version.txt

Heres the link for the kb or wutever: (andrew gave this to me and referred me to this forum)- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256010

We spoke to lway136 in the Chat and I was hoping someone could write him a .reg file based on the info in that kb from ms. He's not comfortable playing around in the registry.

First, we need to back up the registry.

Download ERUNT from Derfisch or MVPS and save it to your desktop.

Please follow Step 4 onwards of the Installing & Using ERUNT guide to back up your registry. Skip Step 19 for now.

***************************************************

Please open a Notepad file: (From the Start Menu, click Run and type notepad in the window that appears.)
  • Copy the contents of the below code box into the notepad window.
  • Save the file as fixit.reg on your desktop: (Important! make sure you change the "Save As Type" to "All Files")
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
    "TrackLockedPages"="REG_DWORD:1"

  • Close the notepad window and double click on the fixit.reg file on your Desktop. Allow the information to be merged into the registry.

Reboot your computer.

***************************************************

Note that this regfix will not solve your problem; it will only allow the generation of stack traces to find out which driver is causing problems. The next time the BSOD occurs, copy down the entire error and post it here.

Try running BlueScreenView and post the results here.
