Whenever I try to open iTunes, I get a pop-up that says: "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed"

iTunes IS already installed.

I've searched the web for help and found a few very old postings that tell me to install a particular fix from either the Apple or the Microsoft site (can't remember which). The problem is that the fix is no longer available.

Any ideas?

I've seen this happen with updates, try deleting the existing shortcut and creating a new iTunes shortcut.

Delete the existing itunes shortcut: Right-click the iTunes shortcut and click Delete.
Then navigate to Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe
Right-click on iTunes.exe
Click send to Desktop (create shortcut)

Hope this helps,
tork

Tork, you're a [@#*^$@] genius!

Why didn't I think of that?!?

Try this one:

Now that I've got iTunes open, it is asking me to update. I go thru the preliminary nonsense and then I get:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"

Any idea on this one?

Thanks, dude!

While I've got you....

Now that I've got iTunes up and running, I'm trying to link up a new device to my library.

My iPod finally bit the dust and my wife bought me a Sansa Clip.

How do I get my iTunes library onto the new player?
