I have two computers running xp. One is a laptop toshiba satellite A105. The other is HP Pavillion A706N. I am trying to add second monitors to both but there is nothing shown in the destop properties listed.

The HP has a nVida card with one slot. I was told by Best Buy that I can add a second monitor using the onboard port but he would say how.

The laptop has a fn F5 for monitors but does not work.

thanks

I have the same problem with a Dell Latitude and asked the same question yesterday, got no response.

Either no one knows the answer or they think we are totally ignorant.

If you get an answer, please let me know.

Downloading Speccy now. Will take a while as the only connection I have (living in a rural area (DSL won't be available until next week (and satellite got too expensive)), it takes some time.

Will send info when available. Thanks for your help as I don't even know if I have a video adapter that supports dual monitors.

Surprise!! In the middle of the download the screen on my laptop went blank, pressed (fc+f8), and not the system recognizes monitor 2. Doesn't work but that is unrelated to the recognitin of the device to begin. I can probably fuddle through this. I've worked with mainframes for the last 40 years but these things something baffle me. Don't know what happened, but thanks for your help!

I went through their list but didn't find it. I downloaded a file called pr200swupdates.exe which should be a Toshiba Upgrade v3.9 in zipped form. when I open the file and hit "setup" it tries to open a repair/uninstall program related to something else. (Global Trading System Pro)
