Wow. This problem seems to be really prevalent but reading other peoples' post didn't help so here's mine.

Basically I have the same redirect problem where the actual search comes up with a proper list, but then I click a link and it goes to some sketchy ad site. I use firefox but checked in IE and it happens there too. This morning 10/15 my computer randomly shut down and for the first time ever without autosaving my opened excel file or remembering my opened firefox tabs. Last nite 10/14 I also remem typing a search into a website I use and got one of those FAKE "this is a forgery website, do you wish to continue" windows. I knew it was fake cause its a website I used many times and the search worked in IE though. Im not sure if thats extraneous useless info but please help me stop the redirecting.

This probably has been going on for a couple weeks, maybe longer but I just ignored it.

Heres the DDS log below, however I was unable to run Step 8 properly and couldn't create a GMER log. I extract, double click and click run, i get a message that says, LoadDriver error, an instance of this is already running. I didn't have the option of unchecking cause boxes were already unchecked and uncheckable. The only boxes checked and how I ran it regardless was with Services, Registry, Files, C:, ADS. Again, I'm unable to even check/uncheck the other boxes. It's prolly useless but nevertheless I've attached the GMER log.

Crisis averted! Thanks guys. There are some wonderful youtube tutorials for "google redirect (tdss) virus removal". I was unable to run the original tdsskiller, even after changing the name to 123.com, however through symantec, i was able to download the backdoor.tidserve removal version. It ran, by shutting the computer down, restarting, and finding the virus. I went ahead and ran the original tdsskiller too, since I was now able to, just to doubly be sure and then ran malwarebytes. I guess no real assistance was needed but I felt the force from you guys. Plus I have read tutuorials twice in the past from bleepingcomputer that helped me remove two previous viruses. Sorry for the thread, please close. Thanks again!

It appears that this issue is resolved, therefore I am closing the topic. If that is not the case and you need or wish to continue with this topic, please send me or any Moderator a Personal Message (PM) that you would like this topic re-opened.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.
