How did the memory test turn out?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Hello fellows,
thank you for your help and responses.
Cryptodan...I am not able to run this memory test...do u an other way to test pleas?

I tell u the results so far I have been trying to fix this comp.

I booted the laptop with the xp cd and went in the recovery con.
I ran attrib -h-r-s c:\boo.ini it gave me a message file cannot be opened
Still I ran Del c:\boot.ini it gave me a message saying an error occurred during directory enumeration
I ran bootcfg /rebuild the msg I got was failed to successfully scan disk. May be a corrupt file system, which would prevent bootcfg from successfully scanning.
I ran chkdsk...it runs and at 32% it gives an error....The volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems.

Now guys tell me what should I do...

Thank you.

Kind Regards,

Ali

Just wondering why you cannot perform the memory test?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

I am afraid this means your harddisk has gone bad. The only solution is to replace it.
If you want we can see if data can be recovered, however, this may be difficult, depending on the extension of the damage.
