Dear All
I hope you can help. I have encountered an issue with a program on my computer. On attempting to open I get a message indicating JVM.DLL not found. I believed this to be a JAVA issue cause by a installation of a supposedly complementary program that has actually cause a conflict. I tried uninstalling / reinstalling JAVA and the program / complimentary offending program to no avail.
Subsequently I now find that JAVA applets will not work in IE9.
I can see in the JAVA Control Panel, under the Advanced tab that "Default Driver for Java" - Microsoft Internet Explorer is not only greyed out but also unselected. How can this be rectified?
I have tried a VISTA system restore which hasn't worked. Also I tried the jvm.dll scan held on bleepingcomputer.com and that wouldn't work either. Spyware and virus scans have found nothing of concern.
Much appreciated.
Kevin

1. Update your Java version here: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
Note 1: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.
Note 2: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. If you don't want to run another extra service, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and restart your computer.
2. Now, we need to remove old Java version and its remnants...
Download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
