Most will run but you will get as many different answers as members. I prefer a "Live Linux" call Puppy Linux. It is less than 50meg download and 60meg burned to a CD. You can run the Live Linux distros from the CD witht installing them to the hard drive. Don't let the small size foo you. Most come with a ful suite of software and some can even run windows application with a plugin. Like I stated in another 10 min download (DSL orCable) and a 25¢ CD-R and you can see if you like it. If you don't reboot and use the CD as a coaster. Nothing to loose.

I have tried 2 dozon or so, but have not got to that one yet. I am looking forward to it.
Windows is like the soft serve ice cream at most resturants. Mostly vanilla sometimes chocolate. Linux is like Baskin Robins. 33 delicious flavors and new ones ever day.

I needed a new distro for my laptop when i wasn't happy
with Knoppix (the only one out of 5 that would actually install)
Now PCLOS lives on my laptop and as of yesterday on my desktop.
Excellent distro and very user friendly.
Use it as a LiveCD first and if you like it click on the "Install to HardDrive" icon
on the desktop.

May be we need a topic room just for Live Linux. Seems very popular.
