There are plenty of video downloaders. You don't need one that gives you problems. Get rid of it. I use Real Player to download any embedded video clip. You may also want to post at Am I Infected just to be sure that you're clean.

The software was not fully uninstalled. Many of those programs are Trojan horses, they leave backdoors. Once you install it, it's already too late. You can't trust 3rd party uninstallers to cleanly remove all components.
Assuming you're on Windows, you need to restore your registry from a backup made prior to the installation. Try system restore and make sure you choose a date BEFORE you installed the software. This will ensure that it is fully removed.
If you can't do that for some reason, open Run and type MSCONFIG. Look for anything under STARTUP or SERVICES that could be related to the malware and uncheck it. Restart and see if that solves your problem.
In many cases once one malware gets in, it invites its friends. The registry is too complex and unless you know the exact profile of the malware you are dealing with, it is generally not practical to try to clean your registry manually because you will almost always do unintentional damage. That's why if you can't restore your registry, you might as well just reinstall your OS. It will take you less time and effort in the end.
Even the most expensive Antivirus programs CAN NOT protect you from everything. So make frequent registry backups and make sure you know what you're installing BEFORE you run the .exe file.
Good luck.
