My McAfee Security system expired and I purchased the McAfee Total protection. When it installs, it states it is uninstalling older versions of McAfee software. It works fine for a few days, then when something updates and my computer is rebooted I get a message that my computer is at risk and my McAfee Security system is expired. I have to reinstall Total Protection every time.
Any ideas how I might resolve this issue? I don't know if it is a problem with the software or a setting in my computer.
Thanks!

In many cases anti-virus vendors provide clean-up utilities on their web sites to remove remnants left behind after unintalling, a failed uninstall or issues with installing a new anti-virus program.
Once you are sure that McAfee Security system has been completely removed, then try reinstalling McAfee Total protection.
