Wow! thank you for the details here (again).
I did not know that the operating system (in of itself) had anything to do with protection from virus's, etc.

In deleting everything, that seemed to go fine.

When doing updates from Microsoft - I get the same error that I have always gotten for years;

Updates could not install;

Microsoft Office Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2)

Is this important?

Hi Brad,

Here is some information that I found about that service pack.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957262

Quote

•Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 SP2 will not update the original version of Microsoft Office Access 2007 Runtime. This version has the build number 12.0.4518.1049. If you have that build, and you want it to be updated to the SP2 level, uninstall that build, and then install Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 SP2.

For more help I suggest you visit the BleepingComputer.com> Software> Business Applications Forum. Be sure to explain you were infected with Zero Access Rootkit but are now clean and provide a link to this topic.

You might also let them know that the problem existed prior to becoming infected. :thumbup2:

Anything else?
