My computer crashed big time & I had to do a re-install. Now when I turn on computer instead of the usual Windows screen opening I get a black screen with this at the bottom:

Diskette drive 0 (zero) seek failure

Press F1 to continue, F2 to enter SETUP.

I click F1 and it will then open the Windows screen.

I am running Windows XP Home
Dell Inspiron 530

Thanks.

Oh yeah, my games seem to be dragging also. Like when I aim at something and click it is VERY slow.

Do you have a floppy in the floppy drive that could cause this error?

Go ahead and press F2 to enter setup and change your boot priority to boot from the hard drive first.

What games?
:)

If your computer doesn't have a floppy drive fitted, go into the BIOS setup and change the setting to reflect this - usually select Not Fitted or None in the FDD or Diskette Drive category. That will stop the BIOS from looking for the floppy drive.
Pleased to have been a Microsoft MVP (Windows Desktop Experience) 2007/8, 2008/9

I pressed F5, and I'm feeling refreshed...
