Well, for my laptop F12 is the setting, so yes, I pressed F12. (I also tried F8 just to be certain)

Hi again,

I know you said you don't have an installation disc handy, but is there any chance you could borrow one? Do you know anyone else with a Windows 7 PC?

Casey

I am pretty certain I can borrow one or find one, as I know I didn't throw mine away, just left it somewhere.

OK, I think before we start with the "hard stuff" we should see if you can find/borrow a disc. Let me know if you can :)

Ehhh, never mind. I am not actually sure if I ever got one now that I think about it, as I got a (lightly) used Dell Inspiron Laptop about a year ago. Borrowing one isn't working out so far either. If I were to be able to borrow one, it would take at least a day or two since I'm pretty much stuck at the house for today.

EDIT: Should I just reply here once I have one?

Yeah, it's just with a Windows 7 disc we could try a few easier options. There are other options though.

Well, I'll give it a few days, since I think I know someone who would have one of those discs that I could borrow.

Also, internet is fixed now :D

How are you getting on - have you managed to find a Windows 7 disc?

Sorry, the computer is working now, as my friend who is pretty good with computers had a few discs available. He insisted on fixing it, and there was in fact some sort of hardware problem AND software problem. Thanks for your help though, very glad you suggested finding a disc, as without that I doubt I would have even asked my friend in the first place.
