Is a Screen saver with a flat panel LCD Monintor nessecary anymore?

Also, is it better to "power off" an LCD, or let it go into "sleep" mode along with the Comptuer?

No, screen savers are not of any practical value on LCD screens or even most modern CRT screens. They're just a neat holdover from a simpler time. B)

"Sleep Mode" is just as good as a full powerdown as far as your screen is concerned. The most you could stand to gain is saving a few cents a year on the trickle of power a sleeping screen draws.
