No Disks for Laptop. system restore won't bring up old drivers....

wireless used to work, drivers are disabled...

ethernet used to work , drivers are disabled...

asking what protocol I need to do to see about enabling at least the ethernet

driver to work so I could patch to another laptop....

Look in Device Manager. Are there any yellow or red symbols? If so, with which devices are they associated. Also, what is the make and model of your computer?

What windows xp service pack are you running?

How was it disabled? You could usually enable this by right-clicking your network adapter then enable. Same with your ethernet card. Are there still flags for your adapter under device manager as previously asked?

Okay. Please go to the Dell support site, enter your service tag number, and download and install the chipset driver followed by any appropriate network / ethernet drivers.

Here are your drivers.

"this rookit seems to keep standing Erect and disable the Driver again and again"
Could very well be. Maybe you should address that issue first in the Am I Infected forum & then install your drivers.
In the beginning there was the command line.
