BleepingComputer.com: Unknown File titled "V" in C:// - Cause for concern

so I have a file called v it has no extension it is 4.56 MB big and the last time apparently it was edited was March 1st 2011. I got an alert on my Comodo Internet Security of services.exe trying to make a process through v..

So I blocked it and all of a sudden all the tabs inside of Chrome refreshed for some reason so now... I've asked several people and they've encouraged me to delete it but I'm quite worried it could be a rat someone had put on my computer or something like that and it was being activated or whatever.. I'm a bit paranoid now and would like some reassurance about what to do from experts. Please keep in mind theirs no extension but I tried opening it in Chrome, VLC Player, Notepad and their was data but nothing was readable. It was a mess like when you try to open a .exe in notepad.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hello, Did you delete it yet?
If not,uploading it to Virustotal would be good. Would be better if you were told how.
