i went into safemode and ran avast and malwarebytes and deleted all the problems. i ran a boot-time avast scan and found more problems, but after that everything seemed ok. yesterday, because i'm sick of these new viruses that shut down my antivirus and run amok, i got the full version of malwarebytes with real time protection. i also ran a full scan and found another six problems and deleted them.
however,
i still have this hidden .TMP file on my desktop that is hijacking my internet. IE9 straight up doesn't work. as soon as i open the program, it crashes and does the IE thing where it tries to recover the page that just crashes and gets stuck in a loop that i can't even close. "The app has requested Runtime to terminate in an unusual way" or something like that pops up and it just cycles through crash, restart crash until i have to alt/cntrl/delete the program closed.
mozilla will run but every URL is hijacked and redirected. i have to open links via "cache" and even then i have to try two or three times. clearly i have a a hijacking trojan someplace.
everything on my computer is running very slow. however, i can't see any unusual processes running.
ihaven't used hijack this since i got this laptop, so i have no idea what wall that junk means.
i've ran all antivirus/malware scans in safemode and cannot find any new viruses or problems. i've even gone into safemode to delete my tmp files. the file on my desktop is called some random string of letters that cannot be found on the net. if i delete it, it regenerates when i try to get online. if i change the file type/name, another of the original spawns. i ran all virus scans on just that file and find nothing, but it's brand new and clearly a problem.
what do i do?? this is the first virus in about 5 years i've had to ask help on. i can't find anything on the net...what do i do?
