I have to download .doc, .docx, and .ppt for school and my computer won't let me download it to my computer. A few months ago my computer had a virus, and we took care of it and then reset my computer to factory settings. Since then I haven't been able to download these vital programs for school. Someone please help

Could it be that the files are "downloading," and you just don't have the office software installed that can open the files?

If that's the case, you might want to check out Libre Office. https://www.libreoffice.org/

Its a little bit different from Microsoft Office, but you should still be able to use it to open the file types you mentioned. ( ...and it doesn't cost anything. )

I have checked and MS Office is installed and working properly. I was able to open Word, create a new file and save it, so it seems that that is not the problem. I do, however, greatly appreciate your taking time to help.

Have you tried setting up another account with full admin permissions? Then attempting what you need to do, to verify the admin account is not corrupted?

Well...what is the location that you are trying to download these files from?

Is there a particular program you are using to reach the download option? If so, then it seems possible that the program may be damaged/corrupt.

What error messages...appear onscreen...when you try to download?
