On most laptops the utility for creating the disks is located in the programs menu from the start bar. They can be created at any time but it is always the best idea to do it as soon as possible. If anything should happen to he hard drive you will be out of luck and wil have to order replacement media from Acer which usually costs about $50us. If you make them now it costs as much as the five DVD's.

I think is better to you to create a Recovery Disk as soon as possible. I always create a couple copy of Recovery Disc it if my client wants me buy Laptop for them. As it will be very usefull in future and if you delay it and your system have crash you will very regret that you doesn't create that Recovery Disc.

You can delay it but make sure once you get around to doing it that you do it completely in one shot because most manufacturers only let you create the disks once.
