We have a Dell Inspiron 1420 with Windows Vista that goes to the blue screen with different errors each time, e.g. BAD Pool Header, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and Page Fault. Then after it blue screens it will not restart unless you wait for quite awhile and then when you restart it blue screens again. We have tried the process of pressing F8 when the Dell logo comes up and we can sometimes get all the way into Windows before it blue screens again. The battery and adapter are fine (replaced a year ago). It sounded like a memory issue so we ordered a new memory card from Dell. Last night we installed the memory card and it recognized the new memory but then blue screened after getting into Windows again. Somehow we got to the MATS Test screen and received the error code 2000-0123. We have tried reseating the hard drive and the memory card.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am hoping it is not the motherboard. It is my son's computer. He just graduated from college and no job yet so really cannot afford to replace it.

We need to know more about your BSODs...

Download BlueScreenView (in Zip file)

No installation required.

Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program and When scanning is done, go to Edit > Select All.

Then go to File > Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.
