BleepingComputer.com: MSI Wind overheating

Is my MSI Wind 1017 netbook overheating ?

It has a single AMD cpu,

At random, access is paused, everything is paused, usually mouse pointer not responsive, keyboard unresponsive; for up to 6 minutes.
I recall my Pentium 1 did this along with flashing tower lights, when it overheated.

Randomly the screen turns dark (while in use). I cannot switch screens to check CPU temp during this time. Netbook is plugged in, 100% battery.

OS: Ubuntu 10.04

So I am hitting 81 Celsius (178 F) under light load (10% to 20% cpu load)

Help ...

Is your netbook used on a flat surface?

Flat surface or on my lap, its always running at 81 Celsius or higher.

There is a possible chance that there might dust clogging the fan which causes overheating.
