I just recently bought 4x2GBs of RAM and a 1TB HDD to install to my comp. My mobo has 4 DDR3 DIMM slots. When I installed all 4 DIMMs, the computer would not POST. I then unplugged the new HDD and left one of the new DIMMs in the primary slot, and it booted just fine. I added a second DIMM and it still booted. When I added the third and then the fourth, however, it would not POST. I went back to 2 sticks and plugged in the new HDD and it still worked fine. When the comp doesn't POST, all of the fans turn on and i can hear the HDDs shuffle, but the piezoelectric speaker doesnt beep and there is no display. I would be really sad if my secondary DIMM slots were bad =/
Specs:
Mobo: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO
Video Card: Radeon EAH6870
Processor: AMD Phenom 1090T 6x 3.2GHz Black Edition
PSU: ULTRA 750W ATX Power Supply
RAM:CORSAIR CMX8GX3M4A1333C9
PS my old RAM configuration was 2x2GBs and so I have not tried to use the secondary slots on my mobo until now
