I can't get shutdown.exe to work anymore to reboot or shutdown other pcs on the lan. Bat files I made used to work fine. Also tried some other programs, and nothing works. Any clues?

I don't believe this is a subject BC condones. However, the correct syntax for remote shutdown is "shutdown -i" assuming you have rights and the ports are not blocked by your system administrator.

I figured this problem out myself awhile ago.
Doesn't condone what? Using and configuring a native windows program? I am my system administrator.

I understand. I was talking about remote attacks in general. Anyone can say they're an admin, but that doesn't always mean they are. At any rate, shutdown -i works. Another good one is taskkill.exe

I'm not attacking anyone. I was simply trying to configure a certain native windows executable. And it does not work anymore for remote PCs on same network unless you authenticate first.
Like I said, problem was resolved.
Anyone can say anything really, can't they. What's the point of even speaking then?
