Boost Mobile won't connect to laptop?

I am using a Boost Mobile Motorola i290. Whenever I try to connect it to my windows 7 gateway laptop the driver never installs correctly and then my phone doesn't connect to my computer.

I got driver installed now, but I still cannot see my phone when I go to my computer.

All I can think of is have you checked the user guide for your phone model to see if you're missing a step?
