Hi

well, it doesn't appear as though those files are infected,

so is Outlook locking up the only issues that is left?

Please try and describe what happens in as much detain as possible: when does it lock up, what action are you performing when it locks up, is it the same every time, or does it lock up during random functions?

Have you tried completely uninstalling it, then re-installing it?

Yes, Outlook locking up seems to be the only problem. It start up normally and then asks for my password for my e-mail account. At that point nothing further happens. I have not tried completly uninstalling it.

OK,

I suspect that is not malware related, but the program has become corrupt

Please uninstall it completely, then reinstall it

see if that makes any difference.

Hello,

I uninstalled Microsoft Office 2003 since Outlook is a component of it. Then reienstalled it.

Updated it with all service packs and then tried running OUTLOOK. Surprised when the outlook window opened it came up with a warning that Outlook did not open properly the last time and asked that I go into safemode. With a complete un-install you would think it would come up dumb to that fact that this happended. So I guess un-installing the software leaves some trace behind?? I used the CD to un-install it. Should I try from the comtrol panel?

It freezed up in the usual spot.

Paul

Try using the REVO Uninstaller to remove all traces of it from the Registry:

Download and install the Revo Uninstaller
  • Double click the new Revo Uninstaller icon on your desktop to start the program
  • Scroll through the listed programs and Right Click on the program you wish to uninstall
  • From the pop out menu choose Uninstall
  • Click Yes to the confirmation dialogue
  • In the next window select the Advanced mode
  • Click Next to start uninstalling the program
  • Answer Yes to confirm the uninstall
  • When the program has completed the four steps, click Next to allow the program to search for leftovers
  • Once complete, click Next, then Finish
  • Repeat the above steps for any other programs you wish to remove.
