Hi,

I just bought a webcam off a reputable dealer, and have tried several times to install the driver? well install using the driver disc and have followed the instruction manual to the letter but it won't install on my laptop, it doesn't actually say what brand it is, but here are some other details; model = PC-2008F USB PLUG, 350k picture element, pick up device= Cmos, it is supposed to be XP compatable. Also comes up now and then when trying to install it with can't find file rsnpstd.dll but this only comes up when pc automatically tries to install. Dealer was no help at all, they just said to reinstall and follow manual by the letter. Is there anything I can do apart from going to buy another one? thankyou for your help smile.gif

Personally, I'd make the "reputable dealer" replace the unit with another.
But realize it's almost a two year old product, so, you might want to upgrade to a newer model.

Device Type: USB
Manufacturer: Shixin
Model: PC-2008F webcam
Interface: USB
Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Age of Device: < 2 years old

Maybe, You might only need to get updated drivers for it.
