When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Hi Guys,

I run Mcafee Personal Firewall Plus and noticed recently that the following keeps trying to make an 'unsolicited connection' to my system.I must have over 20 'events' over the past few days.

bru01m01-1n-f105.1e100.net

I recently removed that horrible Google re-direct virus with the help of this site, so you were my first port of call.

I have used the wonders of Google to try and get some info re this site, but my IT skills don't stretch to understanding more than 10% of anything I come up with- although it does sound a bit iffy.

Is this anything I should be worried about or can I just leave my firewall to do its job?

Thanks in advance.Stuart :P

Whats the IP address, and what were you doing at the time this alert came up?

Is this the hostname:

bru01m01-in-f105.1e100.net

If it is then its google.

bru01m01-1n-f105.1e100.net

That one does not exist.

Thanks for the reply,

Yes it's the Google one - the IP address is 209.85.147.105 [ as shown on the McAfee event log].

So my question is............Why would Google be attempting unsolicited connections to my PC

I think McAfee detected a false positive.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
