a blue screen with a description of the problem pops up. x0000077....I see that a few people have had this issue addressed on here. Is each individual case different? What are the steps I should take to try to fix it? I am running windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 3.

http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.htm , click 77 on the left.

This...and just about any other STOP error...has multiple possible causes and attempted resolution methods.

Let's try this.

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html .

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When autoscan completes (screen comes up), click Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt
.

Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

System manufacturer and model?

Louis

I've been trying to figure this out. For some reason it didn't do an autoscan.

Try running the chkdsk /r command.

Start/Run...type chkdsk /r and hit Enter. Reboot the system. Command will execute then boot into XP.

Go to start-run- and type "eventvwr" and see what kind of errors do you have .
