Connecting tv to laptop, no audio

I connected my laptop to the tv using a Svideo cable and the display shows up perfectly on video 2 input. I also plugged in a 3.5mm audio jack from the laptop to the tv but no audio plays on video 2 input. When i change the input from video 2 to PC, the laptop display doesnt show up but audio plays. How can I display the laptop and also have audio?
