Looking for some upgrades.

I'm looking for a bit of advice, my build is below. I'm going to have some money in a few weeks and I was looking at things I could upgrade for my computer. I want a second monitor but I've been having trouble finding one for a decent price. I've also considered getting a bigger case because the one I bought is rather tiny (it looked larger in the pictures). Anyone have any suggestions?

You really don't need anything else hardware wise until Bulldozer and Southern Islands GPU's come out. As for monitors, the ASUS VS Series VS238H-P looks good.

That monitor looks excellent, but I was kinda hoping to find another one of the ones I have. When is Bulldozer and all supposed to be out?

What was supposed to be so good about Bulldozer? I remember reading something back in January or February about it being better faster or something? Or was it something a bit more special?

Bulldozer, now part of the FX series, is AMD's answer to Sandy Bridge. That is what it is in a nutshell. Techreport and PC Perspective have good write-ups on the CPU. It's much different from their current Phenom II architecture in that it uses modules instead of cores, in the traditional sense. The way it uses the modules to gain performance in certain applications is still a big unknown. These new CPU's are also clocked faster than those in the current generation largely due to the new design.

Sounds good, and I'm assuming they haven't released any price information yet? Either way are they supposed to be compatible wit AM3 sockets? I'd rather not have to buy a new motherboard.

The FX-8150P is priced at about $300 and should be out in late September. The AM3+ socket, which is new, will natively take the Bulldozer CPU's. The AM3+ is also backwards compatible with current AM3 CPUs. AM3 sockets do not natively support AM3+ CPU's and will probably not be able to take advantage of certain AM3+ only features. However, some motherboard manufacturers have released new BIOS' which allow for AM3+ to run. AM3+ motherboards use the 900 series chipset which also allow for both Crossfire and SLI on the flagship 990FX chipset.

You should check out your manufactuer's BIOS downloads to see if it allows the support of the new AM3+ processor.

I checked ASUS's website, and I didn't see anything about an update, however I did find out it's only AM3, not AM3 plus so I might skip out of Bulldozer for a while until I can get a new motherboard.

You might have to wait for a few months after the Bulldozer is released then check.

Asus has had an engineering sample for a few months now, how else can they check compatibility with AM3+ motherboards. If they haven't listed support by now, they probably never will.
