Just lost my sound on my laptop
It's a Inspiron 1545
Windows Vista

The sound control is NOT on mute
When I did the test the chime sound worked, but I can't seem to watch any movies or anything else.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Just got it fixed.
Seems AVG and the firewall got involved somehow.

Somehow I got it going again.

Go to Control panel> system>device manager and check your sound system has drivers if not there will be a yellow exclamation mark there. You can uninstall drivers and then reboot and let windows reinstall them for you..this might help. Run Antivirus/Malwarebytes/Spybot scans to eliminate any viruses. If all this fails then it's probably a hardware problem with the actual speakers.
