I would like to know what drivers I need when installing XP onto my Toshiba Equium L300 laptop, and to be instructed on how I go about the installation. Do I just install XP onto my spare hard drive and then install drivers or do I need install drivers first in order to allow me to install XP
Would be grateful for any advice given

All the drivers should be available on Toshiba's website along with installation instructions.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

I have a Equium L300-146 but they do not list a Equium, only the following
Qosmio, Satellite, mini notebook, Satellite Pro, Portege, Libretto and Tecra
Trying each of these in turn I can find lots of L300s such as L300-ST2501, L300-ST3502, L300-ST3503 and so on, but no L300-146

you could search in here
but you need to enter your notebook model manually.

Reference;
http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK
NOTE - The above will only provide Drivers etc, NOT the INSTALLATION files for the O/S. It is UK based.

Do you have a Win XP CD that came with the machine, or, a RECOVERY PARTITION containing the "system reinstallation" files?
It's a good day when you learn something

From Dans link above go to support then go to download files.
It will bring you to another screen
Under product type select archived files
Work your way down the list & the model you want is L30

Try this link
In the beginning there was the command line.

Hi thanks for all the advice, and some of them have proved to very helpful. However, I now realise that the real problem is not getting the drivers but getting XP to recognise my laptop hard drive. Whenever I try to install XP I get a message saying there is no hard drive to install it on. Strange because the laptop bios recognises the hard drive, and I can install Windows 7 on it. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be.
