My computer freezes. I am not sure if you would actually call it a freeze because certain functionablility remains. All execution, freezes example: when starting programs, or browsing, everything stops for 20 seconds or so, and then continues on as normal. This happens frequently and does not seem matter which application is running.
OS vista Home Premium. Service Pack 2 4Gig Memory Amd Atholon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000 + 2.10 GHz

I need the best approach to solving this issue thank you.

Can anyone walk me through. Thank you.

You say it happens frequently. Does that mean it doesn't happen all the time? What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

What I mean is it freezes ramdonly but more often for each session than not. Too many things have changed since I first noticed this problem aprrox 2-3 months ago.

I have since checked the obvious malware, spyware, virus, etc etc. Some I have found and cleaned. Cookies .. odd trojan .. etc etc. I browse internet heavliy.

I am not sure if this problem is software or hardware issue.
