New build Asus P8p67 EVO, i7 2600, won't boot

Here is my system so far..
Asus P8P67 EVO MB
I7 2600 processor
Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 600w
G. Skill Sniper 2x4gig ram
Galaxy Video card from previous computer
Western Digital sata hard drive
When I try to boot, computer powers up for about 20 seconds, shuts off and then back on, but all I get is a black screen.
I don't hear any beeps at all. MB has 8pin ATX 12v and psu has two 4 pin connectors, so I attached one of these.
This is my third build and everything was great before...guess I was lucky.
Would really appreciate any help please.

Have you connecting both 4pin connectors to the motherboard in the upper left hand corner where the ports are?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

I did try both, but still didn't work. Am I supposed to have both? I didn't read it that way?

I connected the other one and also removed one of the ram modules, but exactly same result.

I did all the standoffs and I believe I have everything else right?

assemble the machine outside the case.

My case has a removable tray for the mb and I did assemble it outside the case...is that what you mean...I am not sure

Well I gave up and bought a Gigabyte P 67A-UD4-B3 and everything started right up perfectly....thanks again for your help.

It looked like the Asus board was defective. Gigabyte makes some really nice motherboards.
